News In The Nest

Back in the Win Column

Temple's 3-2 shootout victory over New Hampshire snapped a six-game skid and gave the Owls their sixth victory of the season. Temple outshot the Wildcats, 13-7, while holding New Hampshire without a shot in the first and third quarters.

Lassalle Lands on Honor Roll

Lassalle was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after recording four points across Temple's two games last weekend. The senior assisted on Maciejewski's goal against Old Dominion before recording a goal and an assist against New Hampshire. She also converted in Sunday's shootout and added a defensive save against ODU. The honor is the second BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll selection of her career.

Corner Connection

Both of Temple's regulation goals against New Hampshire came off penalty corners. Kerkhof recorded an assist on both plays, setting up Magro's first-quarter goal before combining with Lotje Aalderink on Lassalle's second-quarter tally.

Playoff Push

With two BIG EAST games remaining, Temple enters Friday one game behind a three-way tie for third place. Old Dominion, Providence and Villanova are each 2-2 in conference play, while Temple sits at 1-3. The top four teams advance to the BIG EAST Championship, which Temple will host at Howarth Field from Nov. 6-8. The Owls need wins against Liberty and Providence, along with help elsewhere in the conference, to secure a postseason berth.

Back to Lynchburg

Temple returns to Liberty Field Hockey Field for the first time since one of its biggest wins of the 2024 season. The Owls defeated then-No. 18 Liberty, 5-1, on Oct. 4, 2024, handing the Flames their first home BIG EAST loss since 2016.

The Owls nearly took down then-No. 7 Liberty at Howarth Field in 2025. Temple came from behind twice, tying the game at 1-1 and 2-2 to force overtime. The Owls outshot Liberty, 25-13, and held a 14-10 advantage in penalty corners, but the Flames won the shootout, 3-1, to remain unbeaten in BIG EAST play and improve to 13-2 overall and 6-0 in the conference.
