2.25.22 | Women's Fencing

PHILADELPHIA - In its final meet of the regular season, the No. 9 Temple fencing team will host the Temple Invitational on Sunday, Feb. 27. The team's lone senior and two graduate transfers will be honored as part of senior day activities during the meet.

The Owls went 4-1 at the Duke Invite two weeks ago, earning its eighth win over a ranked team with a 14-13 victory over No. 14 Duke. The team is now 22-11 in dual play with five teams left to fence.

Both the foil and epee squads went 4-1 in Durham, N.C., with Emma Pincus (sabre) going 9-4 and clinching the team's victory over the Blue Devils. Margherita Calderaro went an undefeated 8-0 to lead the epee squad, while foilist Cassie Navalta's 9-0 mark led the team.

Temple will host No. 7 Penn State, No. 15 Johns Hopkins, No. 1 Princeton, No. 11 Penn, and St. John's. Round 1 will begin at 8:30 a.m. in McGonigle Hall.

Navalta will be honored as the team's lone senior, while Brooke Stanicki and Ashley Cherry will be honored as graduate transfers at 1:30 p.m. prior to the match against Penn.
