Golf Sits 10th After First Day at Southern Invitational

PALM BEACH, Fla. – Temple Golf finished the first two rounds of the Southern Invitational in 10th place in the 11-team field Monday. The two-day, 54-hole tournament is being held at the par-72, 6,757-yard Falls Club.
Recapping the Day
> Freshman Ethan Whitney led the Owls and is tied for 27th overall with a four-over 148. Whitney carded a three-over 75 in the morning round, but his team-high five birdies in the afternoon helped improve his score to a one-over 73 in the afternoon.
> Sophomore Graham Chase shot a four-over 76 in the first round. Chase improved one stroke in the second round to end the day tied for 34th with a seven-over 151.
> Junior Buddy Hansen struggled in the morning with an eight-over 80 but saw a nine-stroke swing in the afternoon with four birdies to fire a one-under 71. He is tied with Chase for 34th overall.
> Junior co-captain Conor McGrath had a team-high five birdies in the morning shooting two-over 74 but had an uncharacteristic six-over 78 in the second round to tie for 38th overall with an eight-over 152.
> Senior co-captain Dawson Anders had a tough first round, finishing with a seven-over 79. He improved three strokes in the second round with a four-over 76 to end the day tied for 49th overall.
The Field
> Ohio State leads the field at 17-under. Florida Atlantic is in second place at eight-under, followed by James Madison (-5), Old Dominion (+6), and Xavier (+9).
> Ohio State's Maxwell Moldovan leads the field by two strokes through two rounds with a 10-under 134.
