Men’s Tennis Set to Host Delaware

PHILADELPHIA – Temple men's tennis (5-4) is set to return to action Thursday, Mar. 17 at 10:30 a.m. as they host Delaware (5-7) at the Cherry Hill Racquet Club.

The Owls

The Cherry and White are coming off a strong 2-1 week, where they opened with a 5-2 win over FDU on Tuesday, which served as head coach Steve Mauro's 200^th win at the helm of the men's tennis program.
The Owls kept their momentum going as they headed into the weekend, edging out Navy, 4-3 despite playing without standout No. 1 performer, Marin Delmas. The Cherry and White finished off the weekend at William & Mary where they dropped to the Tribe, 6-1.
Thibault Frumolz has had a strong individual showing for the Owls this year, leading the team with a 6-3 singles mark. Frumholz has compiled 2-1 performances in the No. 4, 5 and 6 positions.
The doubles pair of Delmas and Louis Gorregues have led the team in doubles play, posting a 4-2 record, all from the No. 1 position. After Delmas was sidelined temporarily due to injury, Gorregues added a win with Frumholz from the No. 1 spot and a 1-1 split with Hussein El Tawil from the No. 3 position for a total doublesrecord of 6-3.

Scouting Delaware

The Blue Hens enter the match with a 5-7 record, most recently earning a win over Georgetown, 4-3.
Delaware has had success on their home court, posting a 5-2 home record, but have struggled on the road, dropping all five away matches.
James Wilkinson has claimed the No. 1 singles spot for the Blue Hens, posting a 6-4 mark, while also competing at the No. 1 position in doubles play. Wilkinson is joined by partner Pierce Gilheany in doubles, where they have posted a 5-2 record, including a 2-2 dual record and 3-0 tournament record in 2021-22.
