3.24.22 | Women's Fencing

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Two fencers have concluded Day One at the NCAA Championships, with two more rounds of round-robin play left to fence. The top four finishers in each weapon will move on to the semifinals and finals.

Naomi Ross (epee) sits in 23rd place with four bout wins while Anna Novoseltseva (foil) is in 17th place with six bout wins. The Owls are in 16th place after the first day of competition.

"Naomi and Anna both had stretches where they fenced really well, so going into tomorrow we want to duplicate that more consistently," head coach Dr. Nikki Franke said.

Rounds four and five will begin at 9 a.m. for both epee and foil, with the semifinals set for 1:30 p.m.
