Lacrosse Hosts Old Dominion for Senior Day

PHILADELPHIA- The Temple lacrosse team (10-5, 3-1 AAC) concludes its regular season against the Old Dominion Monarchs (5-11, 0-4 AAC). This matchup will also be senior day for the Owls, Annie Carroll, Suzanna Cantwell, Valerie Cradler, Shana Hecht, Kessina Heyn, Margot Hotham, Gabrielle Kirsch, Quinn Nicolai, Abaigeal Ryan, and Lauren Zinkl will be honored for the Cherry and White.

LAST TIME OUT
> Temple fell to No. 10 Florida 18-7 for the team's first loss in nearly a month.
> The Gators took an early lead and did not look back.
> Nicolai scored a hat-trick for the Owls. Attacker Katie Flynn scored her first career goal.
> Belle Mastropietro scored a goal and passed for two assists. The midfielder also controlled eight draws.

SCOUTING TEMPLE
> For the fourth straight week, the Owls received votes in the IWCLA/Inside Lacrosse Coaches/Media poll. Temple is only one spot outside of the top 25.
> Mastropietro has been a force in all phases of the game. The junior currently ranks top ten in the American in six different statistical categories, including goals (41), assists (18), points (59), and is the conference leader in draw controls. Her 85 controls place her 2nd on Temple's all-time single-season list. She has earned AAC Weekly Honors eight times this season, including being named to the AAC Honor Roll this week.
> Mackenzie Roth is a strong contender for AAC Attacker of Year. Roth tied for the game-high against Florida with three assists She now has 35 assists this season, placing her at third all-time on Temple's single-season assists list. She is 13th nationally and 2nd in the conference in both total assists and assists per game (2.33).
> Nicolai is on fire. The grad transfer posted her tenth hat trick of the season against Florida Saturday. She leads Temple in goals (46) and ranks 4th in the conference in goals per game (3.07).
> Katie Shallow continues to star for the Cherry and White defense. Shallow is tied for second in the American ground balls per game (2.27) and is tied for first in caused turnovers (28).  
 
SCOUTING OLD DOMINION
> This is Old Dominion's second season in the American after previously spending two seasons in the BIG EAST.
> The Monarchs are 5-11 on the season and 0-4 in conference.
> Lilly Siskind has led the charge for ODU this season. She leads the team with 52 goals and has 20 assists. The West Chester, Pa. native ranks third in the American in both goals and points.
> The Monarchs are coached by ODU lacrosse alumnus Heather Holt. This is her 11th season leading the program. During her tenure, Old Dominion has competed in four different lacrosse conferences and as an independent. The Monarchs are 69-114 under Holt.

SERIES HISTORY vs. OLD DOMINION
> Old Dominion and Temple are meeting for the 21st time in series history. Temple leads with a record of 13-7.
> The teams met twice times in 2021, with the Cherry and White taking both matches. Temple won the first game by ten goals, they won the second on a goal in the final 30 seconds by Kara Nakrasius.
> The two squads have shared a conference since last season when Old Dominion joined the American.
