Crew Competes at the Bergen Cup

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple crew took second in the Bergen Cup Saturday on the Schuylkill River. The team raced against men's teams from Saint Joseph's, Drexel, and La Salle in the City Championship race. The fourth varsity eight grabbed the gold medal, while the rest of the boats notched silver medals in their events.

"Today's results were not what we hoped for (outside of the great performance by our freshman 8!)", said head coach Brian Perkins. "But each crew made strides and got off the water feeling like we are within striking distance. With two weeks to go, these athletes, and four seconds to make up, I am excited to see where this goes."

VARSITY EIGHT

Took home the silver medal recording a time of 5:46.2

SECOND VARSITY EIGHT

Took home the silver medal recording a time of 5:53.1

THIRD VARSITY EIGHT

Took home the silver medal recording a time of 5:57.7

FOURTH EIGHT

Grabbed the gold medal in the fourth varsity eight event, clocking in at 6:02.1.

Raced to a second-place finish, recording a time of 6:56.7
