5.18.22 | Men's Crew
PHILADELPHIA - The Intercollegiate Rowing Association announced today that three Temple men's crew varsity eight boats received invitations to race at the IRA National Championship on Friday, June 3. The 119th running of the IRA Championships Regatta will be held at Mercer Lake in West Windsor, NJ.
Temple's varsity eight boat is one of 24 boats that will compete at the oldest college rowing championship in the United States. Meanwhile, the second varsity eight boat field consists of 23 boats with the third varsity eight field consisting of 16.
"I'm honored that we got the invitation to the IRA National Championship," Head Coach Brian Perkins said. "And I'm VERY excited to capitalize on the upward momentum we saw in the last three weeks with Temple's Crews. This extra water time and training camp are a great opportunity and we intend to treat it as such!"
All three boats are coming off of top-three finishes at the Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta.
