Men's Crew Names Seven To IRCA Scholar-Athlete List

PHILADELPHIA - The Intercollegiate Rowing Coaches Association announced today the 2022 IRCA National Scholar-Athletes of the Year. Seven members of the Temple men's crew team were named to the list.

Fran Bruzek, Adam Love, Hunter Metnick, Kenneth Raynor, Julia Stoltzfus, Trent Tighelaar, and Brandon Van Vuuren were the seven members who earned the honor.

In order to be named a scholar athlete, rowers and coxswains must have met the following criteria:

Athletes from all IRCA Member Schools are eligible
Athletes must be in second year or more of eligibility
Athletes must have competed in their program's top 3 boats during the current season or raced at the 2022 IRA Championship.
Athletes must have, at least, a 3.50 cumulative GPA through fall semester.

Bruzek, Love, Metnick, Raynor, Stoltzfus, Tighelaar, and Van Vuuren join 518 other rowers and coxswains on the list. In total, 44 teams from 54 member programs were honored. To view the full list click here.
