Men's Crew Concludes Day One at IRA Championships

WEST WINDSOR, N.J. - The Temple men's crew team concluded the first day of the Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championships, as three three varsity eight boats competed in the early morning heats and afternoon repechages on Mercer Lake.
Varsity Eight
> Temple's top boat, The Gavin White, raced in the third heat of the morning, clocking a time of 05:54.11, missing out on the automatic qualifying to the semifinals while moving on to the repechage.
> In the afternoon repechage race, Temple narrowly missed out on qualifying for the AB Semifinals, placing second behind Cornell by less than one second.

Second Varsity Eight
> The Marguerite was the second Temple boat racing on Friday as the crew hit the water at 9:30 a.m.
> The second varsity eight finished fifth in their heat as they clocked a time of 06:10.29 to move into the repechage racing.
> In the repechage, the second varsity eight moved on to the CD Semifinals recording a time of 06:01.86, placing third in their heat.

> The Sassaman also moved onto the repechages as the third varsity eight raced to a time of 06:03.12.
> The time landed a fifth-place finish for the Owls in the third heat.
> The Cherry & White placed fourth in the repechage with a time of 05:51.59 to move into Sunday's Final C.
