Men's Crew Members Set To Compete At World Championships

PHILADELPHIA - Two members of the Temple men's crew team, Adam Oliver (Great Britain) and Rares Nechita (Cyprus), will represent their respective countries in this week's 2022 World Rowing U23 Championships in Varese, Italy from July 25-30.
Oliver, Temple's Male Sport Athletic Performer of the Year, will be racing in Men's Double Scull (BM2x) for Great Britain while Nechita will be racing in the Men's Single (BM1x) for Cyprus.
Oliver will have his first run down the course in a Great Britain uniform this week while Nechita, a freshman in the Varsity 8, has a track record on the international stage. He has represented Cyprus at both the Junior and U23 World Championships in years past.
"We are delighted for both guys. They are fierce competitors and are leaders on our team. Racing at this level will be a great experience for them and we hope they learn something they can bring back to the team."
Nechita's first race will take place on Monday, July 25 while Oliver won't start racing till Tuesday, July 26.
