Women's Basketball Releases Non-Conference Schedule

PHILADELPHIA – Temple Women's Basketball released its 2022-23 non-conference schedule with the Owls playing six home games at the Liacouras Center in head coach Diane Richardson's inaugural season.
The home slate consists of SEC foe Ole Miss coming to town on Dec. 21 before conference play begins shortly after. The Owls' other home opponents consist of Georgetown who come to Philadelphia as the home-opener on Nov. 12 followed by Big 5 rivals Villanova (Nov. 20) and La Salle (Dec. 5), as well as UMBC (Dec. 3) and Duquesne (Dec. 16).
On the road, the Cherry & White open their season against Princeton on Nov. 7 before traveling to St. John's on Nov. 16. The week after, the Owls hit the road for three consecutive contests against Saint Joseph's (Nov. 23), Bucknell (Nov. 27), and Old Dominion (Nov. 30) before concluding the road slate against Big 5 rival Penn (Dec. 11).
"I am really excited about the release of our non-conference schedule," Richardson said. "We have attempted to schedule games with multiple conferences to challenge us and prepare us for the demanding level of play in the American Athletic Conference."
Earlier this year, the American Athletic Conference announced the women's basketball scheduling model and pairings for the 2022-23 season.
In the 16-game league schedule, each team will play six of its 10 opponents twice and four opponents once each - two at home and two away. Temple's 2022-23 home schedule features Cincinnati, ECU, Houston, Memphis, SMU, Tulsa, UCF, and Wichita State. The Owls will play South Florida and Tulane on the road only.
Season tickets deposits can be made by calling the Temple Ticket Sales Office at 215-204-TIXX (8499).
The American Athletic Conference schedule is expected to be announced in September.
