Golf Finishes Ninth at GolfWeek Fall Challenge

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Temple shot one-under par for the final round of the 13-team GolfWeek Fall Challenge Tuesday, but the Owls dropped three spots to finish ninth overall.  Graham Chase and Jake Nease each carded one-under 71s as for the third straight day different Owls led the team. 

For the tournament, Temple shot a three-under 861.

Recapping the Day
> Chase made five birdies on the day and finished the tournament with an even-par 216 to tie for 31st overall.
> Nease also had five birdies and improved eight strokes from the previous day.  Playing in his first collegiate tournament, he tied for 62nd with a 13-over 227.
> Conor McGrath, who carded a one-over 73 for his final round, led Temple in the tournament.  He shot a five-under 211 to tie for 12th overall.
> Ethan Whitney, who led the team with a 67 in the second round, carded an even-par 72 Tuesday.  He finished tied for 19th overall with a three-under 213.
> Joey Morganti struggled on the day with a seven-over 79 and finished tied for 69th with a 15-over 229.
>Playing as individuals, Andrew Curran shot a 75 and tied for 56th with a 224 (+10) and true freshman Darren Nolan, who recorded an eagle on the day, finished with a one-over 73 for the round.  He was 11-over for the tournament and in 59th place.

The Field
> Jacksonville State (836) defeated Wright State (838) by two strokes to win the tournament.
> Coastal Carolina's Trey Crenshaw, playing as an independent, was the individual medalist with an 18-under 198.
