PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. – Sophomore Ethan Whitney tied his collegiate best round with a four-under 66 to tie for the lead after the first round of the Cornell/Temple Fall Invite Saturday. Playing at their home course, The 1912 Club, the Owls A team sits in second place with a one-under 279, five strokes back of the leader, Rhode Island.

Recapping the Day
> Whitney had six birdies on the day and played the back nine at five-under with birdies on four consecutive holes (12-15) and also the 18^th hole.
> Co-captain Graham Chase had a strong day, shooting a one-under 69 to tie for seventh overall. He tallied four birdies for his round.
> Fellow co-captain Conor McGrath was next for the Cherry and White, tying for 15^th overall with a one-over 71.
> Joey Morganti (+3) completed the Temple scorers with Jake Naese (+4) rounding out the Owls' A team.
> Temple's B team, which is in ninth place (+15), was led by Andrew Curran and Greg Hanna, each shooting two-over 72s to tie for 22^nd overall. Darren Nolan was one stroke back with a 73 while Andres Aranguren (78) and Danny Nguyen (79) rounded out the squad.

> Temple's B team will tee off for its final round Sunday at 9:14 am with the Owls' A team starting at 10:34 am.
