Sawyer Koza Earns Philly Soccer Six Rookie of the Week, AAC Weekly Honor Roll

PHILADELPHIA – After a pair of strong performances last week, freshman defender Sawyer Koza has been named to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll for the week of 9/19, as well as earning Philadelphia Soccer Six Rookie of the Week. This is the first time Koza has earned a conference or Philly Soccer Six honor in his career.

Koza scored two goals in win over Saint Peter's including a bicycle kick goal, and a perfect shot from the top of the box after losing two Saint Peter's defenders. He is the first freshman to score two goals in a game since 2019. Koza was also a bright spot in Saturday's loss to UCF, registering his second straight full 90.

The men's soccer team hits the road this weekend as the Owls travel to USF to face the Bulls. The Saturday matchup will kickoff at 7p on ESPN+.
