Sawyer Koza Earns Philly Soccer Six Rookie of the Week for Second Consecutive Week

PHILADELPHIA – Freshman defender Sawyer Koza has earned Philadelphia Soccer Six Rookie of the Week for the week of 9/26. This is the second straight week the Pennsylvania native has won Rookie of the Week honors from the Soccer Six after claiming the award following his two-goal performance last week.
Koza put up his fourth straight full 90 Saturday at USF. The highlight of his match came in the 21st minute when he fired a perfect ball into the box and found Sean Karani for the goal. It was Koza's first career assist and fifth point in three matches.
Temple will be back on the pitch Friday as the Owls take on SMU. The Mustangs were ranked No. 25 in the TopDrawerSoccer top 25 and No. 28 in the CollegeSoccerNews top 30. The 7pm match will be streamed on ESPN+.
