Men’s Tennis Heads to Yale in Search of Their First Spring Victory

PHILADELPHIA - Coming off their loss to the reigning A-10 champions VCU, the Temple men's tennis team (0-1) looks to bounce back and earn their first spring victory against Yale (0-0) on Sunday, Jan. 22. The match will be held in West Haven, Ct., at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center and will begin at noon.

SCOUTING TEMPLE:

Temple's Louis Gorregues is coming off a strong performance last weekend being responsible for both of the Owl's points. He and his partner, Hussein El Tawil secured a doubles victory from the No. 3 position, on top of Gorregues' win in singles play from the No. 2 spot.
Hussein El Tawil continues to build off his strong fall season when he recorded five wins and only two losses. He and Louis Gorregues make for a lethal doubles pair for the Cherry & White.
After having their match postponed last season due to weather, this will mark the first visit the men's tennis team will have at Yale.

SCOUTING YALE:

Yale finished the 2022 season with a 10-12 record but were 7-3 when playing on their home courts.
So far this spring, the Bulldogs have participated in the Yale MLK Invitational which took place last weekend playing the likes of Memphis, Charlotte, and Vanderbilt.
Vignesh Gogineni was dominant in the MLK Invitational winnings points against all three teams for Yale.
Yale men's tennis has a busy weekend ahead hosting both Binghamton and Fairfield for two matches on Saturday before Temple arrives on Sunday.
