NEW YORK, N.Y. – Temple's track and field team kicked off day one of the two-day Dr. Sanders Invitational with Cat Shontz picking up a top-six performance in the 5000 meters on Friday at the Armory in New York City.

Friday's Results
- Shontz highlighted the Owls' first day with a career-best time in the 5000 meters. The Elizabethtown, Pa. native picked up three points for her team with a sixth-place finish and a time of 17:59.63.
- Fiona Carter hurdled her way to a season-best time of 9.21 (28th) in the 60-meter hurdles.
- Friday's meet featured two different divisions of the 60 meters.
- In the white division, Lauren Greig led one of two Owls with a time of 8.06 (17th), while Jewel Ofotan finished 20th with a time of a season-best time of 8.10.
- In the blue division, Chelby Elam finished with a time of 7.87 (26th), while Madison Trout with a time of 7.91 (31st) in preliminary heat racing.
