Cross Country Set to Meet at Conference Foe ECU

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple cross country teams will head to Greenville, N.C. for their final meet before the AAC conference championships. The squads will head back to Greenville in two weeks for the American Athletic Conference championship meet.
Previewing the Owls
> Both squads competed at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh, one of the largest meets of the year.
> The men finished 22 among 43 teams. Cole Frank starred, earning 39th place out of nearly 400 athletes. He was named Temple Athlete of the Week for his efforts.
> The women ended up 42 out of 44. Elsa Chan led the pack for the third straight meet in 62nd place.
The Field
> Athletes from Davidson, Florida Atlantic, East CarolinaN.C. State, UNCW and VCU, among others will compete.
> The meet will take place at Overton's Lake Kristi.
From Assistant Coach Charlotte Imer:
"This is the last meet of the regular season and the first time we've been out of state to race. We've had a couple of weeks of solid training so both teams are excited to use this race as a checkpoint and see how our preparation for conference is going. The women will be competing against FAU and ECU so we hope to be competitive with these teams. The men are looking strong and the goal tomorrow is to win. With great weather conditions and spirits we look forward to competing tomorrow."
