THIS WEEK
The Owls return to Lincoln Financial Field off a bye week to host the Navy Midshipmen at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 4. The American Athletic Conference matchup is set to air on ESPN+ and 95.7 BEN FM.
LAST WEEK
Temple was on its bye week last week, but lost to SMU 55-0 in its Week 8 matchup. The story of the game was the Mustangs' offense, which tallied 563 yards of total offense. SMU has proven to be a potent offense and stingy defense evidenced by its 69-10 win over Tulsa this past weekend.
SAF Elijah Deravil had a standout performance for the Owls, recording a career-high 11 tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss. LB Diwun Black forced and recovered a fumble in the first quarter, marking his first career fumble recovery. The game saw the return of WR Ian Stewart, who recorded his first catch of the season. Temple QB Forrest Brock made his first career appear- ance as an Owl, playing the entirety of the second half.
LAST TIME VS. NAVY
The last time Temple played Navy was a 2022 Week 8 matchup in Annapolis, Maryland, in which the Owls lost 27-20 in overtime. Temple fell behind 13-0 early in the game, but man- aged to come back with 10 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to force overtime. LB Lay- ton Jordan scored his third defensive touchdown of the season in the loss, setting a program record for defensive touchdowns in a season (3). LB Yvandy Rigby recorded a career high in tackles (16) and WR Amad Anderson Jr. tallied a career high in receiving yards (114).
LAST TIME VS. NAVY AT LINCOLN FINANCIAL FIELD
The Owls last faced the Midshipmen at Lincoln Financial Field for the 2021 season finale. Temple lost 38-14, finishing the season with a 3-9 record. Temple RBs Tayvon Ruley and Ra'Von Bonner both scored touchdowns in the final games of their Temple careers. LB Layton Jordan recorded two tackles for loss and one forced fumble.
TEMPLE-NAVY HISTORY
Temple and Navy have matched up 17 times, with the Midshipmen holding a narrow 9-8 ad- vantage in the all-time series. In 2016, the Midshipmen and Owls met in the American Athletic Conference Championship. Temple won 34-10, marking its first conference title since joining the American.
