Steele Announces 2024 Gymnastics Schedule

PHILADELPHIA – On Friday, Temple Gymnastics Head Coach Hilary Steele announced the 2024 competition schedule. Her 14-meet schedule is slated with four home meets.

Temple is coming off 2023, breaking school records on the vault and floor. Individually, 2024 returner Brooke Donabedian tied the program's individual school record on the floor for the second time in her four-year career. Donabedian and teammate Renee Schugman are looking to get back to the NCAAs after competing at regionals in 2023 on the floor exercise. The pair include four Owl returners to the 2024 roster with EAGL All-Conference plaudits in their respective careers.  

TU begins its season on the road with three meets in the span of two weeks. The Owls will open the year on Jan. 5, across the city at the University of Pennsylvania with the third annual Keystone Classic. The Owls will take on in-state rivals, Pitt, Penn State, and the host Penn. Just two days later on Jan. 7, the Owls will head to Morgantown, W.V. to take on the Mountaineers in a dual meet.
 
Before the Cherry and White make their first appearance on North Broad in 2024, they will head to the nation's capital on Jan. 14 for the George Washington Meet, taking on Yale, Cornell, Penn and the host George Washington.
 
The Owls will host their first event of the season in McGonigle Hall on Sunday, Jan. 21 with a dual meet against the 2023 EAGL Champions Towson Tigers.

On Friday, Feb. 2, the Owls will head to SEC country to compete in a quad meet with Auburn, Fisk, and Talladega.  Continuing the road trip, Temple returns to Penn on Feb. 9 to take on the Quakers in a dual.
 
The annual Ken Anderson Invitational is slated for Friday, Feb. 16 in McGonigle Hall against regional schools, Ursinus, Southern Connecticut State, and Bridgeport.
 
TU will be on the road for three straight meets, starting with its biggest of the season on Monday, Feb. 19 as it travels to the Mohegan Sun in Connecticut for the All-American Challenge.. The two-session, eight team meet includes LIU, Bridgeport, West Chester, Brown, Yale, New Hampshire, and Southern Connecticut State. The Owls will then travel Towson on Friday, Feb. 23, and then wraps up the swing at NC State on Saturday, March 2 with Iowa State, Northern Illinois, and NC State.  
 
The Owls will close their home regular season schedule with back-to-back competitions in McGonigle Hall. On Thursday, March 7, they will host Alumni Day at 1 p.m. against Maryland, Penn, and NC State. Just three days later on March 10, TU will host its senior day festivities (2:30 p.m.) post meet against LIU and West Chester.
 
The final regular season meet will be on the road at New Hampshire with Bridgeport and Brown on March 17.
 
Temple will take part of the EAGL Championships at Towson on Saturday, March 23.
