Field Hockey Continues League Play At Providence

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple field hockey team (6-5, 1-2 BIG EAST) will look snap a three-game skid on the road, facing Providence on Oct. 6 to continue league play in its lone game of the weekend.

Scouting Temple
> The Owls are on a three game skid, going 6-5 (2-1 BIG EAST) on the season. The Owls won their first conference matchup, topping UConn 1-0, before falling to Old Dominion and No. 9 Liberty.
> The Cherry and White has struggled offensively, scoring just 10 goals and being shutout by five opponents. Temple has not scored in three games, last posting two goals at Lehigh on Sept. 17.
> Temple fired a season-high 22 shots in the 1-0 overtime loss at Monmouth, putting 15 on target.
> Tess Muller leads the team with three goals, all three being game-winners. Seven other Owls have posted goals for Temple.
> Molly Frey has been a force in goal, recording 37 saves and allowing 16 goals for a 0.698 save percentage. Her 1.44 GAA ranks 25th in the NCAA and third in the league.

Scouting Providence
> Providence is 5-5 (0-3 BIG EAST) on the season and will host Queens on Oct. 8 to close out a four-game homestand.
> The Friars are 2-3 in their last five games, falling 1-2 to Old Dominion in their most recent game.
> Lisa McNamara leads the team with five of PC's 21 goals, while Bella DelNegro is the team's main feeder with three assists.
> Two keepers have seen time in the cage, with Asia Porter seeing the majority of minutes. Porter has recorded 40 of the team's 42 save saves and allowed 17 goals for a 1.72 GAA and a 0.702 save percentage.

Series History
> This will be the 14th meeting between the teams, with the Owls holding a 7-6 edge.
> Temple is on a three game winning streak, topping the Friars 2-1 in a shootout last season on North Broad.
> The last six games have been decided by just one goal, and two have gone to a shootout.
