Richardson Signs Three to Women’s Basketball Class of 2024

11.9.23 | Women's Basketball

PHILADELPHIA - Temple women's basketball head coach Diane Richardson has announced the first members of her second freshman recruiting class on North Broad. The Owls have signed three guards to National Letters of Intent for the incoming 2024-25 class in Kelain Cedano, Savannah Curry, and Adena Webster.

"We welcome a trio that will add to our equal opportunity offense," said Richardson "Adena Webster is an athletic scoring guard that can play many positions. Her ability to read defenses allows her to be a combo that provides scoring power as well as an excellent passer.  Kelain (KC) Cedano is a lefty that also gives us a presence on both sides of the ball. Her ability to score, defend and rebound, gives us depth at both of the guard positions. Savannah Curry is a big guard that creates a matchup problem for our opponents. She is a pure shooter from the perimeter and her length enables her to battle on the boards. We look forward to the incoming 24 class as they are all impact players and will add scoring and depth."

Cedano comes to Temple from Stoughton, Massachusetts in the Boston area, the same hometown as freshman center Sheyenne Swain-Price. She spent the first three years of high school attending Putnam Science Academy. For her senior year, the shooting guard transferred to nationally ranked South Shore Christian. Putnam finished 20-10 in her junior season, finishing fourth in the National Independent School Championship. Cedano averaged 14 points and 7 rebounds per contest. On the AAU side, she suited up for the New York Gauchos where she averaged 13.4 points and 6.9 rebounds per game while hitting 43.5% from deep.

Curry arrives with national recognition. The Fallston, Maryland native was ranked 37 nationally in the class of 2024 by BlueStar Basketball. A PAISAA State Champion at Westtown High School, Curry was named All-Pennsylvania and All-Conference in her junior year while also playing in the Geico National Championship Tournament where they fell in semifinals. The guard was named a team captain, as well as All-Conference and All-Philadelphia Metro Area in her sophomore year. Curry was a star on the AAU circuit where she played for Team Takeover EYBL.

Webster, the second leading scorer among juniors, and eighth in all of high school girls' basketball last season, hails from Nassau, Bahamas. During her junior season, the guard scored a staggering 34.4 points per game to go with 12.5 and 5.0 steals. She was named second team All-Dade County at Schoolhouse Prep in Miami while leading her team to a 17-4 record. On the club circuit she suits for Paradise Hoops. She is the first player in program history to earn a Division I scholarship.
