Owls Return to Winning Ways Against Bloomsburg

PHILADELPHIA – Six players scored in double figures as the Temple University men's basketball team toppled the Bloomsburg Huskies, 85-55 on Wednesday night.

The Owls make a short trip up the Jersey Turnpike and across the Goethels Bridge to take on UAlbany in the NABC Brooklyn Showcase on Sunday, December 10. Tipoff from Barclays Center is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and will be on the YES Network.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Jordan Riley led the Owls in scoring with 16 points. He contributed eight rebounds and a career-high three blocks.
- Steve Settle III filled up the stat sheet with 10 points, a career-high tying five steals, six rebounds and five assists.
- Zion Stanford was in double figures for the fourth consecutive game with 14, shooting 6-for-9 from the floor.
- Shane Dezonie tallied a career-high 13. Matteo Picarelli scored 11 and Sam Hofman added 10 points and eight rebounds.
- Hysier Miller tied a personal best with seven rebounds and had a season-high seven assists.
- Eight different players scored for Temple in the contest. TU shared the ball well with a season-high 17 dimes.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Owls got off to a hot start from the floor, connecting on five of their first seven shots from the floor, opening up a 14-8 lead just more than five minutes into the contest. Settle was involved in four of the baskets, connecting for two of them and assisting on two more. The Huskies remained in the game as a layup with 12:35 remaining in the first half cut the Temple led to 15-12.
- TU responded as a 14-2 run that saw five different players score pushed the advantage to its largest of the night to that point at 29-14 six minutes later. The Owls continued to extend the led through the remainder of the frame, taking a 42-20 lead into intermission. Leading the way were Picarelli with eight while Stanford and Dezonie each netted seven.
- Temple scored the first six points of the second half, opening its largest lead of the evening at 48-20. Bloomsburg made some noise, closing the gap to 63-44, but a 15-5 run for Temple helped to seal the game.
