Temple will host its annual Pink Meet on Sunday a part of the Ken Anderson Invitational
PHILADELPHIA - Temple gymnastics will be in action two times this weekend, starting at the Smith Center in Washington, D.C. on Friday, Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. ET against the host George Washington, No. 29 North Carolina, and Yale and then will turnaround two days later on Sunday, Feb. 19 at 6 p.m. ET to host No. 28 NC State, George Washington, and Penn, a part of its yearly Pink Meet and the Ken Anderson Invitational in McGonigle Hall. Both meets will be available on ESPN+.

SUNDAY'S PROMOTIONS
In the most recent Road to the National standings, the Owls remained firm in their rankings on vault and floor. On the vault, Temple remains No. 52 with a 48.500 average and No. 64 over on the floor with a 48.210. However, the Cherry and White has improved two spots on bars and beam after two of its best scores of the season in the last outing. On bars, Temple moved from No. 43 to No. 41 with a 48.638 average and improved from No. 35 to No. 31 on beam with a 48.845 average.

The Owls had a strong showing at last weekend's EAGL quad meet at Towson where they emerged with top-15 score (195.300) and on the way to a second-place finish against No. 30 Towson (196.375), but ahead of No. 36 Pitt (195.275) and No. 23 NC State (194.775)

Bars
Last Sunday at Towson, Ashley Glynn anchored the bars squad with a team-high and career-high, 9.825. Sarah Stallings continued her consistency on bars this season as she scored a 9.8. It marks the fifth straight meet for Stallings with a 9.8 or better. Madison Brooks and Hannah Stallings added matching scores of 9.775. It was Brooks' season-high thus far this season.

Sarah Stallings enters this weekend ranked ninth in the EAGL on the bars with a 9.840. With back-to-back weeks of a 9.825 for Glynn on the bars, the freshman now has jumped into a 10th-place ranking in the EAGL.

Beam
Going into the final rotation at the Towson quad meet, the Owls led third-place Pitt, 97.250-97.175, but the Owls were able to hold off the Panthers in the final rotation with one of their best performances in school history.

Five of the final six gymnasts scored a 9.8 or better, including Donabedian tying a career-high with a 9.900. The junior added her second beam victory of the season. Additionally, Madison Dorunda (9.875) and Glynn (9.800) scored career-highs, while Amanda Scheuerman made her debut with a 9.825. Hannah Stallings rounded out the group with a 9.800, her third score of 9.8 or higher this season.

Donabedian is one of the conference's best on the beam, coming into the weekend. She's fourth in the EAGL and third in the northeast region with a 9.840. After just one outing on the beam, Amanda Scheureman is fifth in the conference and fifth in the region with a 9.825 average. Additionally, Madison Dorunda has earned herself a top-10 ranking in the EAGL, and top-15 ranking in the northeast region with a 9.780. The sophomore has earned at least a 9.700 in each of her five outings.

Vault
Led by Ashley Glynn's 9.825, four of the six Owls on the vault added scores of 9.7 or better. It was Glynn's third 9.8 or better score this season.

In her second meet of the season on vault, Charlie Behner improved her personal-best mark with a 9.775.

Anna Hill (9.725) and Mackenzie Aresta (9.700) also finished with 9.7s on the night. It was the second straight score of a 9.7 or better for Hill, while Aresta has now put together a streak of three straight.

Floor
Brooke Donabedian led the Owls on the floor with a 9.875, her second-highest score of the season, and the 21st score of 9.8 or better in her career.

Renee Schugman and Summer Ruskey were the only other Owls to add a score higher of 9.7. For Ruskey, it was the third such score for the sophomore this season.

All-Around
Going into this weekend Hannah Stallings is ranked 10th in the EAGL and is top 20 in the northeast region in the all-around. Stallings has been the lone Cherry and White athlete this season to compete in all four events. The last time the Raleigh, N.C. native competed in the all-around was on Jan. 15 at New Hampshire scoring a season-high 38.425. It was Stallings first all-around victory of the season and seventh of her career.

SCOUTING GEORGE WASHINGTON
GW gymnastics recorded a 195.375 at New Hampshire on Sunday with a 49.200 on vault, a 48.350 on bars, a 48.650 on beam and a 49.175 on floor. North Carolina finished first overall with a 196.275, the host Wildcats finished second with a 195.900 and LIU rounded out the four-team field with a 195.100.

Led by Deja Chambliss, four of the Colonials vault scores either tied a career-high or were season-highs. Chambliss also earned her fourth-straight vault title, posting a season-high 9.925 on the event. Overall on the night, Chambliss tied for first in the all-around with a season-high 39.425.

SCOUTING UNC
Last time out, the UNC gymnastics team improved to 9-3 overall and 4-0 against EAGL conference opponents as it posted its highest scores of the year on beam and vault en route to placing first at the East Atlantic Gymnastics League quad meet UNH last Sunday.

North Carolina's score of 196.275 was its second-highest of the year, besting host New Hampshire (195.900), George Washington (195.375) and LIU (195.100).

The Tar Heels won three of four individual event titles including Elizabeth Culton on beam (9.950), Lali Dekanoidze on bars (9.975) and Julia Knower on floor (9.925). After winning the floor title, Knower shared the first-place spot on all-around with George Washington's Deja Chambliss. The sophomore's score of 39.425 marked the second-highest of her career.

SCOUTING YALE
The Bulldogs earned 14 top-five finishes during last week's Tonry Invite as they scored their second-highest mark of the season (194.075) and finished first against Southern Connecticut State University (192.275) and Bridgeport (191.325).

On the vault, Oren Aviad and Gigi Sabatini tied for third in the competition with a 9.725. Ragan Walker led four top-five finishes on the bars with a first-place tally, scoring 9.850. Sherry Young followed behind her teammate in second place with a 9.750, while Aviad and Sabtini tied for fourth with a 9.700. Emma Mangiacapre led the Bulldogs over on the balance beam with a team-best, 9.800, finishing for third. Sabatini and Riley Meeks had strong beam performances with a 9.750, good for tie of fifth place. On the floor, Hana Strause scored a 9.800 to take first. Meeks followed closely with a 9.775.

SCOUTING NC STATE
The No. 23 Wolfpack entered as the top ranked team going into last weekend's EAGL quad meet at Towson, but finished in fourth place behind No. 30 Towson (196.425), Temple (195.300), and No. 36 Pitt (195.275).

NC State's night was highlighted by posting a season-best team score on floor at 49.375 in addition to senior Emily Shepard claiming the all-around crown with a mark of 39.300. Shepard's all-around effort in addition to her tie for first place on vault and tie for third place on floor marked her 100th-career podium finish during her time at NC State.

SCOUTING PENN
The Penn gymnastics team finished in third place during their home quad meet last Sunday as it scored a 193.025. Towson earned the win with a 196.450, while West Chester finished in second place with a 193.050, and Ursinus ended the meet in fourth place with a 185.025.

The Quakers finished with three top-five finishes, highlighted by McCaleigh Marr scoring a 9.825 to win the balance beam title. Marr beat out Towson's Cassidy Stuart and Sarah Girot, who both picked up matching scores of 9.800. Als o notable finishes included, Kiersten Belkoff finishing in a tie for second-place overall on the vault with her score of 9.825. Marissa Lassiter also placed in a tie for fourth (9.800).

UP NEXT
The Owls will be back out on the road next weekend for a pair of meets, starting on Friday, Feb. 24 at 7:30 p.m. against North Carolina Tar Heels in a dual. Two days later, Temple will at Long Island on Feb. 26 in a tri-meet with NC State and the host Sharks. Start time is set for noon ET.
