Owls' Gymnast Brooke Donabedian Named EAGL Specialist of the Week
2.22.23 | Women's Gymnastics
PHILADELPHIA - On Wednesday, the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) announced that Temple junior Brooke Donabedian earned Specialist of the Week, as she earned two gold medals on the floor and helped the Owls to a new school record on the floor with a 49.400 and a season-high team score of 195.450.
Competing at the Feb. 17th George Washington quad meet and at home on Feb. 19 during the Ken Anderson Invitational, the Maple Valley, Wash. native picked up back-to-back wins on the floor with matching 9.925s.
Donabedian was one of six gymnasts to go on to score a 9.8 or higher on the floor during the Feb. 19th meet and helped the Owls achieve the new school benchmark.
Her two wins last weekend on the floor have now given her three this season and five for her career, including her 2022 school record performance of 9.950. Donabedian has now added six scores of 9.9 or higher during her two-plus-year career.
The junior also competed on the beam in both meets, highlighted a fourth-place finish during the Ken Anderson Invitational. Her 9.9 score in that meet tied a career-high, marking the second time this season, and the third time in her career she would hit that achievement.
Currently this season, Donabedian is ranked in the top 10 of the EAGL in both the beam and floor rankings. Donabedian is tied for third on the beam with a 9.840 NQS and ninth on floor with a 9.845 NQS.
