Women’s Basketball Heads to Wichita State for Final Road Game of the Season

PHILADELPHIA – The Temple women's basketball team (10-16, 5-9 AAC) rounds out the road portion of the regular season with a trip to Kansas to face the Wichita State Shockers (15-12, 5-9 AAC) Saturday (3 pm ET/ESPN+/Varsity Network App). This matchup is critical as the season winds down in the AAC.
The winner of this matchup will earn the upper hand in the AAC standings with a chance to catch both Tulane and Tulsa, who sit one game ahead of each with 6-8 records.
LAST TIME OUT: Temple 53 @ UCF 57
> Temple dropped to UCF in tightly contested contest in Orlando.
> Just two minutes into the game, starting forward Caranda Perea was hit the face, injuring her and taking her out of the remainder of the game. UCF pounced to take a 15-5 lead after the first quarter.

> Shooting guard Tarriyonna Gary has put up double figures in two straight games after scoring under 10 points in four consecutive contests. Gary grabbed a career-high nine rebounds against UCF. Her 3.9 rpg is the best mark of her career.
> Denise Solis recorded 22 minutes against UCF, the most since 1/3/23 at South Florida. She set a new career high with six blocks against the Knights.

> Wichita State has just one winning record in conference play since joining the AAC for the 2017-18 season. Last season, the Shockers went 14-16, with a 5-11 mark in conference.

> Wichita State's strength is in the post. Forward Jane Asinde leads the squad in both points (13.2 ppg) and rebounding (10.2 rpg). Trajata Colbert is second in both categories, with 12.4 ppg and 8.0 rpg.
> Keitha Adams is in her sixth season leading the Shockers after spending 16 years at the helm of UTEP. She is 361-299 in 22 seasons as a head coach and 77-90 in her six years in Wichita.
