QUOTE FROM COACH
"It was a great performance by the women tonight, getting a convincing win over a very good Siena team," Coach Steve Mauro said. "I'm happy with how we performed in doubles. We came out strong and executed very well in singles too. We have plenty to work on in practice this week, but we hope to keep the winning streak going."
NEXT UP:
The women's tennis team will now be off until Wednesday, March 8, when they play at Drexel for a match scheduled to begin at noon.
NOTES:
- Temple gained the doubles point and the lead with consecutive wins from the first and second positions behind Uchijima/J. Wei and Kulhava/E. Wei
- The Saint's point came from the third position of singles play as Maanya Viswanath defeated Temple's Thamara Frasser Kawaratani 2-6, 6-4, 7-5 to put Siena on the board and bring the score, at that time, to 2-1 Temple.
- The Owls then adequately rose to the occasion as Veronika Kulhava and Evie Wei won their singles matches from the second and fourth position to push Temple's lead to 4-1, making them the winners on the afternoon.
