WEIRTON, W.V. – On Monday, five Temple gymnastics team members earned seven 2023 All-East Gymnastic League (EAGL) honors, announced by the league.
"These five have been leaders on the competition floor all year. We are proud of their consistent efforts and performance. To be recognized on the All EAGL team is impressive, and well deserved," said Temple Head Coach Josh Nilson.
Freshman Ashley Glynn and junior Brooke Donabedian led the Owls team with a pair All-EAGL honors. In her first season with the Owls, the Hockessin, Del. native earned herself first-team vault honors as well as first team in the all-around. Donabedian earned her second career first-team selection on the floor and a first-career second-team beam selection.
Junior Renee Schugman earned her first career All-EAGL honor, giving the Owls three first-team selections as she joins Donabedian on the first-team floor team.
Sophomore gymnasts Sarah Stallings and Madison Dorunda also earned their first career selections, rounding out the Owls All-EAGL selections for 2023. Both Cherry and White gymnasts earned second-team selections, with Stallings on bars and Dorunda on beam.
The first-team All-EAGL on each event and in the all-around consists of the top eight ranked gymnasts (including ties) from the 10-week regular season. The second-team All-EAGL consists of the No. 9 to No. 16 ranked gymnasts (including ties) from the regular season.
The Cherry and White are back in action on Saturday, competing at the 2023 EAGL Championships at New Hampshire University.
