Lacrosse Drops to No. 16 Yale

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Temple lacrosse (5-4, 0-0 AAC) fell to No. 16 Yale (6-2, 1-0 IVY), 16-5 on Saturday afternoon. Taylor Grollman tied a career-best, ten saves during the contest.

"This was a tough loss to a Yale team who is playing really well," Head Coach Bonnie Rosen said. "I believe in this team and sometimes it just takes a little while for the hard work to pay off, so we will keep working!"

The Owls will return to action on Saturday, Mar. 25 to host No. 7 JMU in the conference opener. First draw is set for 12 p.m. and will be streamed live on ESPN+.
Recapping the Game
- Yale opened the day firing on all cylinders, securing seven goals in the first quarter, while Temple found one of their own from Maeve Tobin off a Belle Mastropietro assist.
- The Cherry and White held the Bulldogs to just four goals in the second quarter, while securing one from Julie Schickling off another Mastropietro dish.
- Yale kept their foot on the gas, netting three more in the third quarter to lengthen the lead.
- The Owls went stride for stride with the Bulldogs in the fourth quarter, each netting two goals apiece until the final minutes. The Owls found contributions from Camryn Zavacky and Mastropietro, before Sabrina Martin converted in the final second of play to end the game 16-5.
- Grollman tied her career best in saves, posting ten, which was previously set against UMBC last week.
- Freshman goalie Meagan Florkowski saw action in her first collegiate game.
- Freshman Sabrina Martin netted her first collegiate goal, securing the Owls fifth and final of the day.
