Golf Travels to North Carolina for ECU Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, N.C. – After participating in the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate, the Temple golf team travels to North Carolina for the ECU Intercollegiate this Monday and Tuesday (March 20-21). The 16-team event will be held at Brook Valley Country Club on a par-72, 6,830-yard course. The tournament will consist of 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday.
Previewing the Owls
> Sophomore Ethan Whitney is coming off a great performance in the last tournament, finishing with rounds of 68, 69, and 70, good for a three-under 207, and fifth place in the individual rankings. He led the Owls with 14 birdies, while adding an eagle on hole 14 of his final round, and notched his third collegiate top five finish. Whitney's score of 207 is tied for fifth all-time on the Owls' Low 54 list with Brandon Matthews at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate in 2013.
> Sophomore Jake Naese shot an 11-over 221 in Aiken, marking his best collegiate 54-hole score. Naese finished tied for 37th, and will look to follow up his performance this week.
> Junior Graham Chase shot a 12-over 222. Chase finished tied for 45th, while senior Conor McGrath shot a 14-over 224 and finished tied for 50th.
> Junior Andrew Curran enters the mix this week. He posted a 75.06 stroke average, competing in all six fall tournaments.
> Junior Danny Nguyen makes his spring debut, competing as an individual this week in Greenville. He competed in one tournament this past fall, posting a stroke average of 78.
The Field
> The tournament is hosted by East Carolina. The other teams in the field are Barton College, Cleveland State, Dartmouth, Francis Marion, Gardner Webb, James Madison, Marshall, Northern Kentucky, Oakland, Ohio, Presbyterian, Purdue Fort Wayne, Queens University of Charlotte, and UT Arlington.
