Golf Finishes Fifth at ECU Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The Temple Men's Golf team finished in fifth place at the ECU Intercollegiate. The 16-team event is being held at Brook Valley Country Club on a par-72, 6,830-yard course. The tournament consists of 54 holes over a two-day period.
Previewing the Owls
> Sophomore Ethan Whitney continued where he left off after the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate, posting rounds of 73, 73, and 75 for a combined five-over 221. Whitney posted the Owls' only eagle, and finished in a tie for 12th.
> Junior Graham Chase shot a 77, 72, and 73 leaving him with a six-over 222, and in a tie for 14th.
> Senior Conor McGrath finished with rounds of 78, 76, and 70 for a combined eight-over 224. McGrath led the Owls with nine birdies and finished tied for 19th.
> Sophomore Jake Naese posted rounds of 80, 75, and 76 for a final score of 15-over 231. Naese finished tied for 56th.
> Junior Andrew Curran made his spring debut posting rounds of 77, 84, and 79 for a final score of 24-over 240, leaving him tied for 83rd.
> Junior Danny Nguyen, competing as an individual this week, shot an 82, 78, and 83 for a final score of 27-over 243. Nguyen finished tied for 88th.
The Field
> East Carolina took home first place at 18-over 882. Francis Marion came in second at 20-over 884, while James Madison took third at 21-over 885.
> Lucas Augustsson from East Carolina finished first in the individual rankings at three-under 213. Mitchell Vance from Francis Marion finished second, one stroke behind at two-under 214. Vaclav Tichy from James Madison and Max White from Gardner-Webb finished tied for third at one-under 215.
