Women’s Tennis Hosts Marist for Second Match in Three Days

Philadelphia – The Temple women's tennis team (8-1) will play host to the Marist Red Foxes (2-5) on Friday morning, March 10 with the match being scheduled for 10:30 a.m.

THE OWLS:

Temple is coming off a 4-3 win over the Drexel Dragons on Wednesday, March 8. The victory marked the seventh-straight for the Owls after starting the spring with a 1-1 record.
After winning the doubles point, the Owl's found themselves down 3-1 in the match against Drexel before winning from the fourth, fifth, and sixth positions to claim the 4-3 victory.
Along the way, Sena Takebe and Thamara Frasser Kawaratani picked up their fourth win from the third position to help anchor the Owls in doubles play. The pair is now 4-1 overall this spring.
The Owls will host Marist on Friday before their three matches next week which include hosting Delaware on Wednesday and Binghamton on Saturday before visiting Penn for a match on Sunday, March 19.

SCOUTING MARIST:

The Red Foxes are most recently coming off a 7-0 loss to the Bucknell Bison on Sunday, March 5.
So far this season, Marist has wins over Lehigh and Binghamton but have lost three straight since then.
This past fall, Marist participated in different competitions including the Army West Point Invitational, ITA Regional Tournament, and the Colgate Invite.
Marist and Temple's women's tennis teams have competed once before back on March 12, 2016. The Owls played host and beat the Red Foxes 7-0.
