Aleah Nelson Named First Team All-Big 5

PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Big 5 has announced that Temple women's basketball guard Aleah Nelson has been named first team All-Big 5. This marks the 7th straight season at least one Temple women's basketball player has earned first team All-Big 5. Nelson was also named second team All-American Athletic Conference in early March.

The point guard averaged 15.2 points per game and 4.4 assists per game throughout the season, both of which led the team and placed her sixth and third in the American, respectively. The Baltimore, Md. native finished the season ranked fifth in three pointers per game (2.3) and eighth in free throw percentage (.789). Nelson reached double figures in 24 of Temple's 29 contests, including a standout 33-point performance against Duquesne on Dec. 16, tied for the fourth most of any player in the American this season. She also became the 26th Owl to reach the 1000 marker against the Dukes.

The awards will be presented at the Philadelphia Big 5 Hall of Fame and Awards Banquet to be held next Monday, April 10 at The Palestra.  Doors open at 6 pm. Tickets reservation here https://pennathletics.evenue.net/events/B5B.
