Women’s Tennis Trounce Wildcats 5-2 for Fifth-Straight Win

Villanova, PA. – Temple women's tennis (15-4) defeated the Villanova Wildcats (5-12) by a final score of 5-2 on Tuesday afternoon, April 4. The victory marked the fifth-straight for the Owls.

NOTES:

No. 8 Jamie Wei and Maiko Uchijima defeated the top Villanova pair to start the day off in the Owls' favor. Veronika Kulhava and Evie Wei also won in the second position to give Temple the doubles' point. In the now 19 matches played by the Owls in the spring, they have won 16 of the doubles' points.
Uchijima carried her success into singles play being the first finished her match from the fifth position, winning in two sets. Evie Wei followed behind from the sixth position to give the Owls a 3-0 lead.
The first Villanova point came in the third position of singles when Maggie Gehrig defeated Sena Takebe in two sets, 6-2, 6-2. The Wildcat's second point came from the first position behind Emma Brogan.
