Track & Field Sets Three PRs in Day One of AAC Outdoor Championships

Tampa, Fl – The Temple track & field team had a solid first day of competition. Three different Owls set new personal bests, including two by Fiona Carter in the heptathlon. Laura Nicholson starred as she has since cross country season, advancing to the finals.
The 10000 meter run was not competed due to inclement weather. The event will be competed at 8am tomorrow morning.

How it Happened
- In the heptathlon 100 meter hurdles, Carter claimed victory in her heat with a time of 14.89. The freshman to set a new personal best in the event.
- Carter also forged a new personal record in the shot put, throwing a mark of 9.15m (30.0 ¼). She exited the heptathlon due to injury after the 200m dash.
- Temple 1500m record holder Nicholson won her heat in the event with a time of 4:30.15. She advances to the final to be held on Sunday.
- Chelby Elam, Lauren Greig, and Madison Trout ran in the 200m dash. Elam earned the best time of the Owls, running 24.84. Greig set her second personal best of the outdoor season (25.08).
