Temple Women's Rowing Wins Third Varsity 8 at Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. — The Temple Women's Rowing team came away victorious in the Third Varsity 8 at the 2023 Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta on the Cooper River on Saturday, May 13.
The Third Varsity 8, Temple's only boat of the day, matched up against Stockton and Jefferson in the Third Varsity Grand Final. The Owls took first overall by a wide margin, clocking in at 7:30.33. The Owls' victory in the Women's Third Varsity 8 played a key role in Temple winning the overall team points trophy, with 136 points.
"We were really excited coming into today's racing and that energy definitely carried throughout the race," Temple Assistant Coach Bryanna Eichler said. "From the start of the race, this crew took a commanding lead and rowed their own race. It's really inspiring to see this boat walk away from the season with their best race and a win."

After a successful day at the Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta by Temple's Third Varsity 8 boat, the Owls will now shift gears to the American Athletic Conference Women's Rowing Championship. The event will take place on Melton Lake in Oak Ridge, Tennessee at 9 a.m. on May 14.
