6.2.23 | Men's Crew
West Windsor, N.J. - Temple posted the second fastest time trial in the Varsity 4 Friday and advanced to the Grand Final of the 2023 IRA National Championships Regatta which is being held on Mercer Lake. Â
Â
Â
The Owls Varsity 4, comprised of freshman cox Ryan Brady, senior stroke Adam Oliver, sophomore three-seat Pascal Evans, sophomore two-seat Rares Nechita and senior bow Kenneth Raynor, completed their trial with a time of 6:20.187.  That was less than four seconds behind national power California (6:16.974) and nearly four seconds ahead of third place FIT (6:24.062).
Â
Â
The semifinal heats were canceled due to conditions on the lake in the afternoon so the Owls advanced directly to the Grand Final and will row from lane 5 with Cal right beside them in lane 4.
Â
Â
The Varsity 4 will be looking for their first gold medal at the IRA National Championships since 1995. The race is scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m.  Live video hereÂ
