6.2.23 | Men's Crew

West Windsor, N.J. - Temple posted the second fastest time trial in the Varsity 4 Friday and advanced to the Grand Final of the 2023 IRA National Championships Regatta which is being held on Mercer Lake.

The Owls Varsity 4, comprised of freshman cox Ryan Brady, senior stroke Adam Oliver, sophomore three-seat Pascal Evans, sophomore two-seat Rares Nechita and senior bow Kenneth Raynor, completed their trial with a time of 6:20.187.   That was less than four seconds behind national power California (6:16.974) and nearly four seconds ahead of third place FIT (6:24.062).

The semifinal heats were canceled due to conditions on the lake in the afternoon so the Owls advanced directly to the Grand Final and will row from lane 5 with Cal right beside them in lane 4.

The Varsity 4 will be looking for their first gold medal at the IRA National Championships since 1995.  The race is scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m.   Live video here
