Varsity 4 Earns Silver Medal at 2023 IRA Championship

West Windsor, N.J. - Temple Crew earned its first medal at the IRA National Championship in nearly 30 years as the Owls' Varsity 4 took home the silver medal in Saturday's Grand Final held on Mercer Lake.
Sitting in fourth place at the 1000-meter mark of the final, the Owls crew pushed past Northeastern and Navy and crossed the finish line two seconds behind gold-medal winning crew California (7:06.781) with a time of 7:06.789.Â
Dartmouth took home the bronze medal, finishing with a time of 7:07.869, narrowly defeating FIT (7:09.011).
The Owls Varsity 4 was comprised of freshman cox Ryan Brady, senior stroke Adam Oliver, sophomore three-seat Pascal Evans, sophomore two-seat Rares Nechita and senior bow Kenneth Raynor.Â
The last Temple Crew to medal at the IRA National Championships was the 1995 Varsity 4, which took home the gold medal.
