Temple is looking for their first win of 2023
BETHLEHEM, Pa.- The Temple men's soccer team will wrap up its season opening road trip on Monday against Lehigh. The Owls kicked off the 2023 season with a 0-0 draw last Thursday at Monmouth.
ÂFlannan Riley recorded three saves in the season opener, his first in the Cherry and White. He was one of seven players to make their Temple debuts in the game.
Felix Ewald, Kemali Green, and Nikolai Zapolskikh each had a pair of shots against the Hawks. Ewald and Zepeda each had one shot on goal.
Green, Riley, and Alex O'Leary logged all 90 minutes, while Lukas Egarter sat just for just two minutes at the end of the first half.Â
ÂScouting Lehigh
The Mountain Hawks opened their season with a 2-1 loss to Saint John's on Thursday. They went 3-10-3 last year, including 2-5-2 in the Patriot League.
Freshman Trey Sheeler scored Lehigh's lone goal against the Red Storm. The team's leading returning scorer is sophomore Gennaro Mazzella, who had one goal and one assist as a freshman.

The Owls and Mountain Hawks have played 21 times, with Temple holding a 10-9-2 record in the matchup. The most recent meeting was a 1-0 Owls win last year in Philly.
