Men’s Basketball to Face Nevada in 2023 Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic

PHILADELPHIA - ESPN Events has unveiled the matchups for the 2023 Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic to be held December 21, 22 and 24th and Temple will play the first game of tournament against Nevada (4 pm EST/ESPNU). It marks the first meeting between the programs.
This will be Temple's first trip to Hawai'i since the 1970s when the Owls made two trips (1971, 1976) to Honolulu to compete in the Rainbow Classic.
The eight-team tournament includes 12 games played over a four-day stretch at the SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu. This year marks the 14th edition of the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic.
The other first round games are TCU vs. Old Dominion (6 pm/ESPNU), Georgia Tech vs. UMass (8 pm/ESPN2) and Portland at defending tournament champion Hawai'i (12 pm/ESPNU).
Temple will play either TCU or Old Dominion on Dec. 22 at either 6 pm (semifinal round/ESPN2) or 8 pm (consolation round/ESPN+). Sunday, Dec. 24 is the final day of play with games beginning at 2:30 pm and the Championship tipping off at 9:30 pm on ESPN2.
