Owls Fall in AAC opener at FIU

Lucas Hitters netted his first career goal.
MIAMI- Fla.- The Temple men's soccer team fell 5-1 to Florida International on Saturday night in the American Athletic Conference season opener for both teams. Lucas Hitters scored the Owls' lone goal in the waning minutes, the first of his collegiate career.
How it Happened
> FIU got on the board first after a defensive battle through the first 15 minutes, scoring twice in the late stages of the opening half.
> The Panthers added three more in the second, with one coming on a penalty kick.
> Hitters found the net in the 86th minute, his first and only shot attempt of the night.
Game Notes
> The kickoff was pushed back 30 minutes due to weather. It was the third weather delay the Owls endured in their last three matches.
> Hitters becomes the sixth Owl to score this year, and the fifth to score for the first time in his career. He did so in just seven minutes on the pitch.
> Andrew Kempe made his first start of the season in goal. He played all 90 minutes.
