Temple (2-1, 0-0) hosts the No. 20 Miami Hurricanes (3-0, 0-0) at Lincoln Financial. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 23 on ESPN2 and 97.5 The Fanatic.

JOE KLECKO TO BE HONORED AT HALFTIME
Joe Klecko played football at Temple from 1974-76 leading the Owls in tackles with over 100 in each season. He was inducted into the Temple Athletics Hall of Fame in 1987 and his son, Dan, joined him there in 2014, becoming the first second generation footballers to join the fraternity. Joe went on to play 12 seasons in the NFL and gained notoriety as a member of the New York Jets Sack Exchange. This August, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

CELEBRATION OF CHAMPIONS
For the second straight year Temple Athletics will be honoring the anniversary years of our championship teams and individuals at halftime of our Champions Day football game against Miami (Fla.) on September 23. Also, at the game we will celebrate our all-time Football great Joe Klecko, who was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this summer.

LAST WEEK
The Owls got back in the win column with an emphatic victory against Norfolk State, 41-9. The story of the game was freshman running back Joquez Smith, who burst onto the scene with 142 rushing yards and two total touchdowns. Temple's defense was stout in the win, holding the Spartans to just nine points. The victory marked the 30th straight time that the Owls came away victorious when limiting their opponent to 10 points or less.

LAST TIME VS. MIAMI
The last time the Owls and Hurricanes met was a 34-3 victory for Miami at Lincoln Financial Field in 2005. Hurricanes tight end Greg Olsen led the way with two receiving touchdowns and wide receiver Devin Hester returned a punt for a touchdown.

TEMPLE-MIAMI HISTORY
Miami and Temple have met 14 times, with the Hurricanes holding a 13-1 advantage in the all-time series. The two teams played for 12 consecutive seasons from 1992-2003, when the Owls were a member of the Big East.

UP NEXT
The Owls will hit the road to Oklahoma to open AAC conference play against Tulsa on Sept. 28. The Thursday night game is set to air on ESPN.
