Golf Returns to Action at the Ironwood Collegiate Classic

Greenville, N.C. – After a two-week break, Temple Golf returns to action on October 2-3 when the Owls travel to North Carolina to take part in the 2023 Ironwood Collegiate Classic, hosted by American Athletic Conference member East Carolina. The two-day, 54-hole event will be held at Ironwood Golf and Country Club.
First round action is set to begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. on Monday in the first of two rounds on opening day., Tuesday's final round will also begin at 9 a.m.
Previewing the Owls
> Temple is competing in its third tournament of the fall season, posting top five showings at the Cornell Fall Invitational (2nd) and the Temple Invitational (4th).
> Ethan Whitney and Aidan Emmerich lead the Owls with 71.5 stroke averages. Whitney led the Owls at Cornell with a three-under 139 to finish second overall while Emmerich led the Owls and tied for fourth overall (143, +3) showing at the Temple Invitational.
> Graham Chase is next for the Owls with a 73.3 stroke average with Michael Walsh right behind (73.5 spg.)
> Rounding out the team's starting five for this tournament freshman Matthew Vital, who tied for 18th in the Temple Invitational with a six-over 146. His final round, though, was a three-under 67.
> Playing as individuals are Andrew Curran (72.8 spg) and Brett McGrath (72.0 spg.)
