Track & Field Totals Five Podium Finishes at Villanova Invitational

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Temple track & field program traveled to the Ocean Breeze Track & Field Complex in Staten Island, New York this Saturday to compete at the Villanova Invitational.
The Cherry & White totaled five podium finishes and tallied four personal records at the meet.
Results
- Amira Green led the way for a strong performance by the Owls in the high jump. Green took first place overall, clearing 1.70 meters. Nicole Castor placed third at 1.60 meters and Fiona Carter tied for fifth with a height of 1.55 meters.
- Temple saw similar success in the long jump, highlighted by Inara Shell's first place finish with a jump of 5.89 meters. Shell was just .01 meters off a personal record. Obiamaka Igwenagu (5.61 meters) also earned a podium finish, placing third. Allyson Metzger (4.88 meters/21st) rounded out the team's efforts.
- Allie Riches stayed in good form in the pole vault, taking home a second-place finish at 3.95 meters. Cierra Crane placed sixth at a height of 3.40 meters.
- In the 3,000 meters, Elsa Chan placed fourth with a time of 10.05.56. Chan's time was approximately a second off a personal record. Jillian Wolk (11:21.21/22nd) made her collegiate debut in the event.
- The Cherry & White put together an impressive showing in the 4x400 relay, finishing with a time of 3:57.79. The Owls placed third in their heat and fifth place overall in the event. Temple's team consisted of Jade Pope, Lauren Greig, Dominyka Petraskaite, and Chidumga Nkulume.
- Temple saw a solid team effort in the 400 meters, led by a sixth-place finish from Jade Pope at a time of 57.16. Chidumga Nkulume (57.80) finished seventh and Lauren Greig (58.72) came in 13th.
- In the one mile, Dominyka Petraskaite (5:08.91/8th) and Molly Demarzo (5:23.01/19th) both set new personal records in the event. Emma-Kate Watt clocked in at 5:28.0 in her first time running the event at the collegiate level.
- Nya Browne earned a top-10 finish in the 200 meters, placing ninth at a time of 25.59. The freshman's time tied a personal record through three races. Fiona Carter clocked in at 27.20.
- Reagan Schwartz represented Temple in the triple jump, placing 15th with a 10.58-meter mark.
- Laila Cottom (1:20.70/18th) competed in the 500 meters for the Owls.
- Obiamaka Igwenagu set a personal record in the 60 meters, clocking in at 8.09. Allyzon Metzger finished at 8.24 and Inara Shell ran a 8.30.
- In the 60-meter hurdles, Browne finished at 8.97 and Carter clocked in at 9.44.

Up next
The Owls will travel back to New York for the second of three straight weekends in The Big Apple. Temple will compete at the Dr. Sanders Invitational at the N.Y. Armory on Jan. 26.
