PHILADELPHIA – The No. 11 Temple Owls' fencers completed the Philadelphia Invitational on Sunday getting a pair of victories versus No. 3 Columbia and NJIT.

MEET SUMMARY
- Temple closed out the Philadelphia Invitational going 2-3 overall, facing four top 15 teams on the day.
- The Owls fell to No. 2 Notre Dame, 20-7 to begin the day, but added back-to-back wins against NJIT (20-7) and No. 3 Columbia (16-11). For the final two rounds, the Cherry and White fell in back-to-back matches to No. 12 Yale, 14-13, and No. 7 Penn, 18-9.
- The parliament of Owls in sabre went 24-21, while the foil squad added a 26-19 record.
INDIVIDUAL HIGHLIGHTS
- Sophomore Renee Oymann led the foilists with seven (7-1) of the Owls' 26 wins, while sisters Anna Novoseltseva and Elizabeth Novoseltseva added six wins apiece.
- Epeeist Grace Smith earned a team-best eight wins on Sunday. Graduate student Margherita Calderaro followed with four.
- Freshman Lauren Johnson had an excellent showing with the sabre, going 7-3 to close out the Philadelphia Invitational. Graduate student Zoe Turner added the second most wins in sabre with five.
