Temple Women's Tennis Team Wraps Up at ITA Regionals

PHILADELPHIA – Temple women's tennis wrapped up ITA Regionals at the University of Pennsylvania with Nina Andreoni and Martyna Mackiewicz reaching the round of 16 in doubles.Thamara Frasser Kawaratani and Kelly Richter both advanced to the round of 32 in singles, marking a strong showing for the Owls.

How It Happened

Kelly Richter's standout moment came on Day 1, where she fought back from a set down to claim a gritty 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory over Penn's Sarah Wang. She also teamed up with Irmak Ozturk to secure an 8-5 doubles win against Hofstra's Mohamed and Soyer.
Thamara Frasser Kawaratani showcased dominance in her singles match on Day 1, defeating Rider's Maria Buss 6-4, 6-0. She also contributed a key doubles win alongside Marianthi Christoforidou, triumphing in a close tiebreaker 8-7(5) against LIU's Tardivel/Tsoukalas.

UP NEXT
The Owls will return to action on Oct. 24 to Oct. 27, as they will head to Houston for AAC Fall Championships. Tournament play will begin Thursday (Oct. 24) and close Monday (Oct. 27).
