Golf Finishes Play at Elon Phoenix Invitational

BURLINGTON, N.C. - The Temple golf team concluded its final round at the Elon Phoenix Invitational on Tuesday. Senior Ethan Whitney led the way with a one-under par 70, as the Owls closed in 13th place as a team.

- Whitney was relatively consistent throughout his round on Tuesday, carding 13 pars en route to his round of 70.
- Overall, Whitney was the top individual finisher for Temple, closing in a tie for 21st at one-over par 214.
- Senior Michael Walsh was the next best competitor for the Owls, carding a birdie and an eagle on his round of 73.
- UNC Greensboro, East Carolina, and Elon finished at the top of the team leaderboard in that order.
- Longwood's Justin LaRue earned a two-stroke individual victory with his impressive 12-under par finish.
- The Owls continue the fall season locally at the Big 5 Invitational on Thursday, October 24.
- The event will take place at Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pa.
