PHILADELPHIA – Myrthe Schuilenburg and Tess Muller each had a goal and an assist as the No. 20 Temple field hockey team won its seventh consecutive game, downing Georgetown 3-0 in a BIG EAST contest on Friday afternoon.

BY THE NUMBERS

It is the sixth time in program history Temple has won seven games in a row. The last winning streak of that length came in 2006.
In addition to Schuilenburg and Muller, Agustina Tucceri found the back of the cage. Devin Kinzel had an assist.
Ashley Cogger made her collegiate debut, playing the final five minutes in cage, making one save.
TU held a 17-9 shot advantage and a slim edge in corners, 9-8.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Temple got on the board on its first shot of the game as Tucceri corralled a pass from Schuilenburg at the top of the circle, turned the stick around, and smacked a backhanded shot into the top of the cage.
The Owls doubled their lead early in the second. Muller sent a clean ball into the circle that was collected by Schuilenburg and swept into the far side of the net.
In the third quarter, the Cherry and White Muller scored on a corner after Kinzel weaved around traffic to get a clear pass away.

The Owls return to action on Sunday, traveling to Easton, Pa. to take on the Lafayette Leopards on Sunday, October 20. Game time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
