Owls Defeat Tulsa on Homecoming, 20-10

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple Owls (2-5, 1-2) defeated the Tulsa Golden Hurricane (2-5, 0-3) on Saturday in Temple's Homecoming game with 18,721 in attendance. QB Evan Simon threw for 297 yards and a touchdown, while DE Diwun Black added two sacks and a forced fumble.
Tulsa WR Anthony Watkins led the Golden Hurricane with 73 yards receiving and a touchdown. Defensively, SAF Dayne Hodge added eight tackles.

How it Happened
- Temple opened the scoring with a 29-yard field goal from Maddux Trujillo with 3:20 remaining in the first quarter.
- TE Peter Clarke extended the Owls' lead on a three-yard touchdown from Simon. This made the score 10-0 Temple with 12:55 to play in the second quarter.
- Temple scored again with 4:23 left in the first half, this time on a one-yard rushing touchdown from RB Terrez Worthy, giving the Owls a 17-0 lead into halftime.
- Tulsa got on the board on a 63-yard touchdown reception to Anthony Watkins with 8:59 left in the third quarter, cutting Temple's lead to 17-7.
- The Golden Hurricane cut into the lead further with a 46-yard field goal from Seth Morgan, making the score 17-10 Temple with 2:40 left in the third quarter.
- Maddux Trujillo nailed a 41-yard field goal, making it a two-possession ballgame with 12:50 left to play.
Statistically Speaking
- TE Landon Morris set a new career high in receptions (4) and receiving yards (97). His 58-yard reception in the first quarter was Temple's second-longest play from scrimmage this season.
- Tyquan King finished the game with nine tackles. This marked the fourth straight game he has led the Owls in that statistic.
